THE SECRET, sharing stories of hope, and keep on pushing

Are you in a hard time in your life? What are you going to do about it? Please share, everyone needs to hear stories of hope.

A year or two ago, the book, THE SECRET, came about and captured the attention of millions. In fact, Oprah Winfrey did a couple of shows on it because it hit such a chord in so many people's lives. If you have not read it, it basically takes the mind processes of successful men and women throughout the centuries and tells their "secrets" on how to live the most successful, the most fulfilling life you can possibly dream up.

My favorite part of this book's message is it reminds individuals that they have the power within to conjure up their dream life, or their lives dream, however you like to think of it. This message has been told so many different ways and so many different times in movies and books. It is one that keeps on repeating itself because although we know what we need to do to get to our own "magic place", whether it be wealth, optimal health, etc., we need to remember to take the steps in actually DOING to get to where we want to be.

How are you supposed to know what you need to "do" to get there? Start; just START. Start with little steps, keep taking those steps, and DO NOT STOP until you reach your goal. As the SECRET says, keep your goal always in sight. Detail it. Get there. Just keep moving, never stop. The sweat, blood, and tears will appear, but keep going. When it gets harder, push harder. When I was delivering my first child my doctor said, "Push the hardest where it hurts the most!" Yikes! Well it worked, and I have applied it to all areas in my life. I hope you can too. Let's keep on pushing, we'll get there........

2 new recipes created from "not having any food in the house"

I have been trying to make it to the grocery store for three days now. You know it is time when there's no milk or eggs....

Here we were, 5pm. on Saturday night with no dinner in sight, no food in the house. I opened my refrigerator and eyed over my canned goods, and WHALA! A new masterpiece was created! This one was so tasty that Sophia even ate it. It will appear in the second addition of Just Recipes. I found myself in the similar situation Sunday night (we had eaten the leftovers for lunch already!) and another creation was made and approved by everyone- the baby in my belly was squirming up a storm after this meal! This one will be in the next book as well.

My message= EXPERIMENT with your food! Look at what you have and create. The worst thing that can happen is you can create a meal that is gross. Or- your family will praise you as their master chef! Happy cooking:)

WELCOME JUST RECIPES COOKERS!

What a whirlwind the past 7 weeks have been for our family!!!

We started writing this book in January and have been seen in the Aspen Daily News, Channel 9 News, CNN, and Aspen's Plum TV.

I hope our message is clear- Not only is this book full of delicious and easy recipes, but it's a book of inspiration. We were forced to expedite the publishing process of this book due to the current economic situation we are in. Having no steady income to pay our bills and with another baby on the way, Brent and I needed to create our very own hope and our very own change.

We do not have time to wait. We hope we can inspire all people who are in a rough economic spot, who are miserable in their own life situation, or simply need a change so they may be living as fully and as happily as possible. Taking this alternative road is not easy at all, but going down a dark and depressing road is even more difficult, and we refuse to be victims. America was founded on freedom and opportunity, and we are the real American working family exercising those rights. We hope you are encouraged to do the same:)

I hope you enjoy these recipes as much we have. Please share your comments.
Good Luck,
Karen Fjeldheim
